भजे विशेषसुन्दरं समस्तपापखण्डनम्। स्वभक्तचित्तरञ्जनं सदैव राममद्वयम्॥१॥ जटाकलापशोभितं समस्तपापनाशकम्। स्वभक्तभीतिभञ्जनं भजेह राममद्वयम्॥२॥ निजस्वरूपबोधकं कृपाकरं भवापहम्। समं शिवं निरञ्जनं भजेह राममद्वयम्॥३॥ सहप्रपञ्चकल्पितं ह्यनामरूपवास्तवम्। निराकृतिं निरामयं भजेह राममद्वयम्॥४॥ निष्प्रपञ्चनिर्विकल्पनिर्मलं निरामयम्। चिदेकरूपसन्ततं भजेह राममद्वयम्॥५॥ भवाब्धिपोतरूपकं ह्यशेषदेहकल्पितम्। गुणाकरं कृपाकरं भजेह राममद्वयम्॥६॥ महासुवाक्यबोधकैर्विराजमानवाक्पदैः। परब्रह्म व्यापकं भजेह राममद्वयम्॥७॥ शिवप्रदं सुखप्रदं भवच्छिदं भ्रमापहम्। विराजमानदैशिकं भजेह राममद्वयम्॥८॥ रामाष्टकं पठति यः सुखदं सुपुण्यं व्यासेन भाषितमिदं शृणुते मनुष्यः। विद्यां श्रियं विपुलसौख्यमनन्तकीर्तिं सम्प्राप्य देहविलये लभते च मोक्षम्॥९॥

I worship Rama, the One without a second, graced with a crown of matted locks, who destroys every sin and shatters the fears of his devotees. I worship Rama, the One without a second, who awakens us to our own true nature, the source of grace who takes away the round of birth and death; the same to all, auspicious and spotless. I worship Rama, the One without a second, whom ignorance imagines together with the world of appearances, though in truth he is without name or form; formless and free from all affliction. I worship Rama, the One without a second, beyond the world of appearances, beyond every mental distinction, pure and free from affliction, the one unbroken consciousness. Shri Ramashtakam (Vyasa) Significance
A short hymn to Rama as the non-dual Supreme: each of its eight verses ends 'भजेह राममद्वयम्', 'I worship Rama, the One without a second', and a ninth verse names Vyasa as its author and gives the fruit of reciting it. Written in the brisk Pramanika metre, it joins devotion to Rama with the language of Advaita Vedanta, calling him formless, beyond name and form and the one pure consciousness. It is recited in Rama worship, on Ram Navami and in daily prayers.
