श्री राम रक्षा स्तोत्र English Meaning
Om Shri Ganeshaaya Namah Salutations to Lord Ganesha. The sage (Rishi) of this Ram Raksha Stotram is Budhakaushika. The deity is Lord Ramachandra, and the meter is Anushtup. The power is Goddess Sita, the support is Lord Hanuman, and it is recited for pleasing Lord Ramachandra. Meditation Let us meditate on Lord Rama, who has long arms, holds a bow and arrow, sits in the lotus posture, dressed in yellow attire. His eyes are like lotus petals, his gaze serene, with Sita seated on his left, and a dark complexion like a raincloud. He is adorned with various ornaments and a crown of matted hair. The stories of Lord Rama extend to billions, and each syllable of his tale removes great sins. Meditate on the dark-hued Lord Rama, whose eyes are like lotus petals, who is with Sita and Lakshmana, and wears a crown of matted hair. Holding a bow and arrow, the destroyer of demons appeared to protect the world through divine play. The wise should recite the Ram Raksha Stotram, which destroys sins and fulfills all desires. May Lord Raghava protect my head, and the son of Dasharatha guard my forehead. May the son of Kaushalya protect my eyes, and the beloved of Vishwamitra protect my ears. May the protector of yajnas guard my nose, and the one who loves Lakshmana protect my mouth. May the treasure of knowledge guard my tongue, and Bharata’s revered brother guard my throat. May the wielder of divine weapons guard my shoulders, and the one who broke Shiva’s bow protect my arms. May Sita’s husband guard my hands, and the conqueror of Parashurama guard my heart. May the destroyer of Khara protect my abdomen, and the one sheltered by Jambavan protect my navel. May the lord of Sugriva guard my waist, and Hanuman’s master protect my hips. May the best of the Raghu dynasty protect my thighs, and the one who destroyed the Rakshasa clan guard my knees. May the creator of the bridge guard my shins, and the slayer of Ravana protect my feet. May the bestower of wealth on Vibhishana guard my entire body. The one who recites this Ram Raksha Stotram with faith, attains long life, happiness, victory, and humility. Those who move through skies, earth, and the netherworlds cannot even see one who is protected by the names of Lord Rama. By remembering Rama’s name, one is not tainted by sin and attains both worldly pleasures and liberation. Whoever wears these names of Rama on their neck finds success and prosperity wherever they go. By meditating on this indestructible armor of Lord Rama, one attains divine knowledge and success everywhere. Lord Shiva himself revealed this Ram Raksha in a dream to Sage Budhakaushika, who wrote it upon waking. Rama is the wish-fulfilling tree to the needy, the refuge for all beings in distress, and the source of joy in the three worlds. Lord Rama is youthful, charming, and strong, with eyes like lotus petals. He wears clothes of bark and black antelope skin. Living on fruits and roots, they are self-disciplined, ascetics, and the sons of Dasharatha — the brothers Rama and Lakshmana. They are the shelter of all beings, and the foremost among those who wield bows, the destroyers of demons. May they protect us, the noble sons of the Raghu dynasty. May Rama and Lakshmana, who hold ready bows and arrows, always proceed before us on our path for our protection. May Lord Rama, equipped with armor and weapons, always protect my wishes. Lord Rama, the heroic son of Dasharatha, the one followed by Lakshmana, the descendant of Kakutstha, complete in virtues, may he protect us. He who is known by the Vedas, the Lord of sacrifices, the ancient supreme being, the beloved of Janaki, boundless in valor, may that Lord protect us. A devoted follower who recites these divine names with faith, attains more merit than performing an Ashwamedha Yajna, without any doubt. Those who praise the lotus-eyed, yellow-robed Rama with these divine names, are never bound by worldly sorrows. I bow to Lord Rama, the noble king, who has compassion as deep as the ocean, who is the treasure of virtues, beloved of Brahmins, righteous and just. I bow to Rama, the dark-complexioned, peaceful incarnation of virtue, adored by all, the ornament of the Raghu dynasty, and the slayer of Ravana. Salutations to Lord Rama, Rama the auspicious, Rama the charming, Rama the son of the Raghu dynasty, and the protector of Sita. I surrender to you, O Rama!
