Meaning
Sankatanashana Ganesha Stotram English Meaning
Bowing my head to the god Vinayaka, son of Gauri, the refuge of his devotees, one should remember him every day for long life, for one's wishes and for prosperity. First, Vakratunda, the one with the curving trunk; second, Ekadanta, the single-tusked; third, Krishnapingaksha, the one with dark and tawny eyes; fourth, Gajavaktra, the elephant-faced; fifth, Lambodara, the great-bellied; sixth, Vikata, the one of awesome form; seventh, Vighnaraja, king of obstacles; eighth, Dhumravarna, the smoke-coloured; ninth, Bhalachandra, who wears the moon on his brow; tenth, Vinayaka, the great leader; eleventh, Ganapati, lord of the hosts; and twelfth, Gajanana, the elephant-faced. Whoever recites these twelve names at the three junctions of the day has no fear of obstacles; this recitation, O Lord, brings every success. One who seeks learning gains learning; one who seeks wealth gains wealth; one who seeks children gains children; one who seeks liberation reaches the highest goal. One who recites this hymn to Ganapati sees its fruit within six months, and within a year attains fulfilment; of this there is no doubt. Whoever writes it out and gives it to eight brahmins gains all learning by the grace of Ganesha.

Significance
Sankatanashana Ganesha Stotram Significance
A short hymn spoken by the sage Narada that gives twelve names of Ganesha and the fruits of reciting them; its closing colophon assigns it to the Narada Purana, though sanskritdocuments notes that it is not readily found in printed editions of that Purana. Its name means 'remover of troubles', and it is among the most widely recited Ganesha prayers, traditionally at the three junctions of the day, at the start of worship and on Sankashti Chaturthi.
