मोको कहाँ ढूँढे रे बंदे, मैं तो तेरे पास में॥ ना तीरथ में ना मूरत में, ना एकांत निवास में। ना मंदिर में ना मस्जिद में, ना काबे कैलास में। मैं तो तेरे पास में बंदे, मैं तो तेरे पास में॥ ना मैं जप में ना मैं तप में, ना मैं बरत उपास में। ना मैं किरिया करम में रहता, नहिं जोग संन्यास में॥ नहिं प्राण में नहिं पिंड में, ना ब्रह्मांड आकाश में। ना मैं त्रिकुटी भँवर में, सब स्वाँसों की स्वाँस में॥ खोजी होए तुरत मिल जाऊँ, इक पल की तालास में। कहत कबीर सुनो भाई साधो, मैं तो हूँ विश्वास में॥

Moko Kahan Dhundhe Re Bande English Meaning
Where are you searching for me, O seeker? I am right beside you. Not in places of pilgrimage, not in images, not in a hermit's solitude; not in temple, not in mosque, not in the Kaaba, not on Kailash. I am right beside you, O seeker, right beside you. I am not in chanting or in austerities, not in vows and fasts. I do not live in rites and ceremonies, nor in yoga and renunciation. Not in the life-breath, not in the body, not in the universe or the sky; not in the whirl of the trikuti, the yogic centre between the brows. I am the breath within every breath. If you are a true seeker, you will find me at once, in a single moment's search. Kabir says: listen, brother seekers, I dwell in faith.

हे बन्दे, तू मुझे कहाँ ढूँढ रहा है? मैं तो तेरे पास ही हूँ। मैं न तीर्थों में हूँ, न मूर्तियों में, न एकान्त-वास में; न मन्दिर में, न मस्जिद में, न काबा में, न कैलास पर्वत पर। हे बन्दे, मैं तो तेरे पास ही हूँ। मैं न जप में हूँ, न तप में, न व्रत-उपवास में; न मैं कर्मकाण्ड और अनुष्ठानों में रहता हूँ, न योग और संन्यास में। न मैं प्राण में हूँ, न शरीर में, न ब्रह्माण्ड में, न आकाश में; न मैं त्रिकुटी (भौंहों के बीच के योग-केन्द्र) के भँवर में हूँ। मैं तो सब साँसों की साँस में हूँ। जो सच्चा खोजी हो, उसे मैं तुरन्त, एक पल की खोज में ही मिल जाता हूँ। कबीर कहते हैं — सुनो भाई साधुओ, मैं तो विश्वास में बसता हूँ।

Moko Kahan Dhundhe Re Bande Significance
Kabir's best-known song of the God within. The Lord tells the seeker that he is not to be found in pilgrimages, images, temple or mosque, in rituals or yogic feats, but right beside him, in the breath of every breath and in faith. This is the longer version commonly sung as a bhajan. School texts and Tagore's Songs of Kabir follow a shorter pad on the same theme ("ना मैं देवल ना मैं मसजिद…"); because Kabir's songs lived in oral tradition, the wording varies from singer to singer.
