Mangalam Bhagavan Vishnu Significance
A benediction to Vishnu, declaring him, the Lord with Garuda on his banner, the lotus-eyed Hari, to be auspiciousness itself. It is recited at the start of new undertakings and at the close of worship and readings. The same verse occurs in the Garuda Purana (Preta Khanda, 2.47.48 in the Wikisource text) and opens the Vishnu Ashtamangalam; a close variant ends a chapter of the Bhavishya Purana.
