जय वीयराय ! जग-गुरु ! होउ ममं तुह पभावओ भयवं ! । भव-निव्वेओ मग्गाणुसारिआ इट्ठफल-सिद्धी ॥१॥ लोग-विरुद्ध-च्चाओ, गुरुजण-पूआ परत्थकरणं च । सुहगुरु-जोगो, तव्वयण-सेवणा आभवमखंडा ॥२॥ वारिज्जइ जइ वि नियाण-बंधणं वीयराय ! तुह समये । तह वि मम हुज्ज सेवा, भवे भवे तुम्ह चलणाणं ॥३॥ दुक्ख-क्खओ कम्म-क्खओ, समाहि-मरणं च बोहि-लाभो अ । संपज्जउ मह एअं, तुह नाह ! पणाम-करणेणं ॥४॥ सर्व-मङ्गल-माङ्गल्यं, सर्व-कल्याण-कारणम् । प्रधानं सर्व-धर्माणां, जैनं जयति शासनम् ॥५॥

jaya vīyarāya ! jaga-guru ! hou mamaṃ tuha pabhāvao bhayavaṃ ! | bhava-nivveo maggāṇusāriā iṭṭhaphala-siddhī ||1|| loga-viruddha-ccāo, gurujaṇa-pūā paratthakaraṇaṃ ca | suhaguru-jogo, tavvayaṇa-sevaṇā ābhavamakhaṃḍā ||2|| vārijjaï jaï vi niyāṇa-baṃdhaṇaṃ vīyarāya ! tuha samaye | taha vi mama hujja sevā, bhave bhave tumha calaṇāṇaṃ ||3|| dukkha-kkhao kamma-kkhao, samāhi-maraṇaṃ ca bohi-lābho a | saṃpajjaü maha eaṃ, tuha nāha ! paṇāma-karaṇeṇaṃ ||4|| sarva-maṅgala-māṅgalyaṃ, sarva-kalyāṇa-kāraṇam | pradhānaṃ sarva-dharmāṇāṃ, jainaṃ jayati śāsanam ||5||
Meaning
Jay Viyaray Sutra English Meaning
Victory to you, O Vitaraga, free of all attachment, teacher of the world! O Lord, by your power may I gain detachment from worldly existence, the following of the right path, and the fulfilment of my rightful aims — — the giving up of what the world condemns, reverence for elders, doing good to others, the company of a true guru, and devotion to his words — unbroken for as long as this life lasts. O Vitaraga, although your teaching forbids binding oneself by asking a reward for one's religious acts, yet may I have the service of your feet, birth after birth. The end of sorrow, the end of karma, a peaceful death in full awareness, and the gain of bodhi — may these come to me, O Lord, through my bowing to you. The most auspicious of all auspicious things, the cause of all well-being, the foremost of all religions — the teaching of the Jinas is victorious.

हे वीतराग! हे जगद्गुरु! आपकी जय हो। हे भगवन्, आपके प्रभाव से मुझे संसार से वैराग्य, सन्मार्ग का अनुसरण और इष्ट (उचित) फल की सिद्धि प्राप्त हो — — लोक-निन्दित कार्यों का त्याग, गुरुजनों (बड़ों) का आदर, परोपकार, सद्गुरु का योग और उनके वचनों की सेवा — ये सब मुझे इस भव के अन्त तक अखण्ड रूप से प्राप्त हों। हे वीतराग, यद्यपि आपके शासन में (धर्म के बदले फल माँगने रूप) निदान-बन्धन का निषेध है, तो भी मुझे भव-भव में आपके चरणों की सेवा प्राप्त हो। हे नाथ, आपको प्रणाम करने से मुझे दुःखों का क्षय, कर्मों का क्षय, समाधि-मरण और बोधि (सम्यक्त्व) का लाभ — ये सब प्राप्त हों। सब मंगलों में मंगलरूप, सब कल्याणों का कारण, सब धर्मों में प्रधान — जिनेश्वर का शासन (जैन धर्म) जयवन्त है।

Significance
Jay Viyaray Sutra Significance
The Jay Viyaray (Pranidhana) sutra is the prayer with which Shvetambara Murtipujak Jains close every chaityavandan: they ask the Vitaraga Lord for detachment from worldly life, right conduct, a true guru, service at his feet birth after birth, and finally a peaceful death and bodhi. The first two verses are recited with the joined hands raised to the forehead, the rest with the hands lowered. It ends with the Sanskrit benediction "sarva-mangala-mangalyam…", which also closes the Laghu Shanti and Brihat Shanti and many auspicious occasions.
