Meaning
Jai Ganesh Deva English Meaning
Victory, victory, victory to Lord Ganesha, whose mother is Parvati and whose father is Mahadeva. He has a single tusk, he is full of compassion, and he has four arms; a tilak shines on his forehead, and he rides a mouse. Betel leaves, fruits and dried fruits are offered to him; laddus are given as his food offering, and the saints serve him. He gives sight to the blind and a sound body to lepers, a son to the childless and wealth to the poor. Sur Shyam has come to you for refuge: make his service fruitful, Lord, whose mother is Parvati and whose father is Mahadeva.

Significance
Jai Ganesh Deva Significance
The most widely sung Hindi aarti of Ganesha, sung at the start or close of almost every Hindu puja, and above all during Ganesh Chaturthi. Its simple stanzas praise the son of Parvati and Mahadeva: single-tusked, four-armed and riding a mouse, honoured with betel, fruit and laddus, and generous to the blind, the sick, the childless and the poor. The text follows the commonly sung version, which ends with the 'Sur Shyam' stanza; the Gita Press Aarti Sangrah orders the stanzas slightly differently and ends with a stanza beginning 'दीनन की लाज राखो' instead.
