Ekashloki Ramayanam English Meaning
First Rama's going to the forest of hermitages; the slaying of the golden deer; the abduction of Vaidehi (Sita); the death of Jatayu; the meeting with Sugriva; the crushing of Vali; the crossing of the ocean; the burning of the city of Lanka; and then the slaying of Ravana and Kumbhakarna: this, in short, is the Ramayana.

पहले श्रीराम का तपोवन (वन) को जाना, स्वर्णमृग का वध, वैदेही (सीता) का हरण, जटायु का मरण, सुग्रीव से भेंट और वार्तालाप, वाली का दमन, समुद्र को पार करना, लंकापुरी का दहन, और फिर रावण तथा कुम्भकर्ण का वध: संक्षेप में यही रामायण है।

Ekashloki Ramayanam Significance
The whole Ramayana in a single verse: Rama's going to the forest, the golden deer, Sita's abduction, Jatayu's death, the meeting with Sugriva, the defeat of Vali, the crossing of the ocean, the burning of Lanka and, finally, the slaying of Ravana and Kumbhakarna. Sanskritdocuments identifies it as a verse of the Ramakarnamritam. It is recited as a compact remembrance of the whole epic, for example on Rama Navami.
