Meaning
Bhojan Mantra (Brahmarpanam) English Meaning
The act of offering is Brahman, the oblation is Brahman, poured by Brahman into the fire that is Brahman. Brahman alone is reached by one who sees Brahman in every act. Becoming Vaishvanara, the fire of life, I dwell in the bodies of all living beings; joined with the inward and outward breath, I digest the four kinds of food (what is chewed, swallowed, licked and sucked).

Significance
Bhojan Mantra (Brahmarpanam) Significance
The prayer most widely said before meals in Hindu homes, schools and ashrams, made of two verses of the Bhagavad Gita. The first (4.24) sees the offering, the oblation, the fire and the one who offers as Brahman; the second (15.14) is Krishna's word that he dwells in every living body as the fire that digests food. Many households add further verses, such as 'Annapurne sadapurne' or 'Tvadiyam vastu Govinda'; only the two Gita verses are given here.
