Aarti Kijai Hanuman Lala Ki Lyrics

Meaning
Aarti Kijai Hanuman Lala Ki English Meaning
Perform the aarti of beloved Hanuman, crusher of the wicked, the very power of Raghunatha (Rama). By his strength the great mountains tremble; disease and affliction dare not even peep near him. Son of Anjana, giver of great strength, he is the ever-ready helper of the saints. Raghunatha entrusted him with the mission and sent him forth; he burned Lanka and brought back news of Sita. Lanka was a fortress with the sea itself for its moat, yet the son of the Wind crossed it without delay. He set Lanka ablaze, slew the demons and accomplished the work of Sita and Rama. When Lakshmana lay senseless, he brought the life-giving sanjivani before daybreak and saved his life. Entering the underworld, he broke through the dark bonds of death and tore off the arms of Ahiravana. With his left arm he struck down the demon hosts; with his right he carried the saints to safety. Gods, humans and sages wave the lamp before him, crying 'Victory, victory, victory to Hanuman!' The golden plate glows with the camphor flame as Mother Anjana performs his aarti. Whoever sings this aarti of Hanuman comes to dwell in Vaikuntha and attains the supreme state.

Significance
Aarti Kijai Hanuman Lala Ki Significance
The standard Hindi aarti of Hanuman, commonly sung after the Hanuman Chalisa and in Tuesday and Saturday worship. It recalls his deeds in the Ramayana: carrying Rama's mission to Lanka and bringing back news of Sita, burning Lanka, fetching the herb that revived Lakshmana, and defeating Ahiravana in the underworld. Hindi literary historians, beginning with Ramchandra Shukla, cite an older form of this aarti, with the signature 'Ramananda', as one of the few Hindi songs attributed to Swami Ramananda. The text here is the shorter popular recension printed by Gita Press, which has no signature line.
